Danone Communities

Danone Communities is Danone’s impact fund that empowers entrepreneurs leading businesses focused on improving people’s health in a sustainable way. These entrepreneurs leverage market‑based and innovative solutions to unlock access to quality food and safe drinking water for vulnerable populations.

In addition to long‑term financial support, Danone Communities provides expertise, networks, and business insights to help these enterprises grow their performance and impact. As of 2025, Danone Communities has supported 16 enterprises in more than 20 countries, positively impacting the lives of 16 million people every day.

Danone Communities monitors the daily number of individuals benefiting from nutritious food and safe drinking water, as reported by the social enterprises it supports.

Danone Ecosystem

Danone Ecosystem is comprised of an endowment fund and an association (not-for-profit entity), created by Danone. Its aim is to strengthen and expand “general interest activities” within the Danone ecosystem, including improving the livelihoods of small farmers, supporting sustainable farming practices, and promoting healthy habits.

Investing in sustainable projects

Livelihoods Funds

Created in 2011, we collaborate with Livelihoods Funds to invest in projects in Africa, Asia, and Latin America that empower smallholder farmers and rural communities. These projects improve food security and income for farmers, restore degraded ecosystems, and create value in agricultural supply chains.

Their mission is rooted in two beliefs: that no single actor can tackle the major sustainability challenges of our times alone, and that no large-scale transformation can be achieved without the involvement of local communities.

Livelihoods Funds

Danone Ventures

Danone Ventures is the corporate venture arm of Danone, focused on partnering with food tech startups that share Danone’s vision of a healthy and sustainable future for food. Danone Ventures invests in startups developing disruptive tech and science-based solutions for the food industry. Leveraging investment as a tool, the Danone Ventures team helps facilitate strong value-creating partnerships between Danone and those start-ups, with a view to fostering innovative solutions to tomorrow’s challenges.
