Our approach

Our B Corp jouney

In 1972, Antoine Riboud articulated a visionary idea that still guides us today: Danone’s Dual Project — a bold commitment to delivering both economic success and social progress. This philosophy has shaped our identity for over five decades.

Our 2015 partnership with B Lab was a natural evolution of this vision. It reaffirmed our dedication to using business as a force for good and brought new momentum to our journey toward greater transparency, accountability, and positive impact.

In 2025, we officially achieved B Corp certification worldwide. With more than 200 legal Danone entities now certified in over 60 countries, our 90,000 employees represent around 9% of the global B Corp movement workforce. This achievement underscores our long-standing commitment to delivering business success while driving positive social and environmental impact.

Supporting B Corp’s reach through our partner suppliers

Our Partners

In 2024, long-time Danone Iberia milk supplier More Holstein joined our growing network of B Corp certified partners. This milestone underscores our commitment to driving change across the entire value chain. We believe real impact starts with trusted partners who share our belief that business can - and should - be a force for good.

Learn more about B Corp

B Corp is a global movement led by the nonprofit B Lab, certifying for-profit companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. The “B” stands for “Benefit for all,” reflecting a commitment to serve all stakeholders - not just shareholders.

Beyond certification, B Corp is a community of businesses working together to redefine success in the economy- inspiring action, sharing best practices, and driving a more inclusive, equitable, and regenerative way of doing business.

Companies must score at least 80 points on an assessment called the B Impact Assessment (BIA) to become certified. This assessment ensures a company balances both profitability and purpose, measured across 5 key impact areas including workers, governance, customers, environment, and community. Companies must also complete a “Disclosure questionnaire” to confidentially disclose any sensitive practices to B Lab. Lastly, they must complete an audit process every three years to be recertified.

For decades, we’ve championed both economic success and social progress through our Dual Project. B Lab’s belief that a different way of doing business is possible deeply resonates with our values and reflects our core mission as a company. That’s why, in 2015, we began our partnership with B Lab - achieving our first certification with Danone Iberia in 2016. Now, a decade into this journey, our commitment remains stronger than ever, reaffirmed with each new B Corp certified entity.

Yes, since November 2025, Danone is officially B Corp certified worldwide.
Over the past decade, Danone has progressively certified its eligible subsidiaries – beginning in Spain and expanding across multiple geographies, including France, the United States, Egypt, Japan and South Africa. This bottom-up approach to global certification concluded with the certification of Danone SA, the parent company, and completing the group’s global certification.
