Circular packaging and reducing emissions

Sustainability

Packaging is essential to bringing water and its health benefits to people, and this needs to be done in the most responsible way. Plastic pollution is an important issue. The system for plastic packaging needs to evolve and we want to be a part of the solution. We are working with experts to invest in the circular economy of packaging, keeping bottles in the loop and out of nature so that plastic can be recycled and reused. In the UK & Ireland, our evian, Volvic and Harrogate bottles are recyclable. We're also working to increase the amount of recycled plastic in our bottles. Since early 2025, all our evian and Volvic bottles have been made from 100% recycled PET*. We are also committed to carbon reduction. We have set out a roadmap to reduce emissions in line with our global target and are our full supply chain in line with our 1.5°C, SBTi verified, carbon reduction target by 2030.

We have focused on reducing emissions through: using renewable energy at bottling sites, optimising transport, making packaging improvements and developing new innovations.

evian natural mineral water gets its unique composition from a 15-year journey through the French Alps. Starting out as snow or rain, it slowly travels through glacial rocks, which enriches it with minerals and gives it a crisp taste.
