As part of the Renew Danone strategy, in 2023, we reframed our sustainability roadmap as the Danone Impact Journey. This roadmap, which grounds our commitments as a "Société à Mission" and a B Corp, is articulated around three pillars: Health, Nature, and People & Communities.

Our collective commitment is to deliver our mission to bring health through food to as many people as possible while driving a positive impact. At Danone, we want to proactively adapt and contribute to more resilient food systems, as it conditions our capacity to thrive as a business, and resonates with our DNA and dual project of sustainable financial and societal performance.

For each pillar of the Danone Impact Journey, Danone has a set of priorities, translated into mid- to long-term objectives, focusing on areas where we can deliver the most impact and shared value. The three pillars –

At Danone, we are driven by a strong mission of bringing health through food to as many people as possible, which is anchored in our "Société à Mission" legal status. Since 2015, we have also embarked in a B Corp journey, that we have achieved in 2025, being now fully B Corp certified across the world.

Health

Health is our North Star and the foundation of our unique portfolio. Our goal is to lead in our mission to bring health through food to as many people as possible, drawing on decades of research and expertise.

We’re striving to empower consumers and patients to support their health through four main areas: developing tastier and healthier food and drinks, promoting healthier choices, providing positive nutrition and hydration for a healthier lifestyle, and investing in science and research.

This pillar of the Danone Impact Journey has clear objectives for 2030.

Health

Preserve and regenerate nature

Nature

Food is essential - and healthy food even more so. But we can only produce it if we contribute to protect the ecosystem it comes from. This is why we are playing our part, aiming to deliver lasting impact, at scale.

We’re focusing on five key areas through our Nature pillar, starting with decarbonizing our business, and leading the way on cutting methane emissions, while supporting farmers to transition to regenerative agriculture. By transforming our production sites, we plan to reduce our water footprint, and we’re continuing our vital work to protect watersheds and support water access.

We’re also redesigning our packaging and supporting the development of effective circular packaging systems, as well as cutting waste throughout our value chain.

Thriving people and communities

People & Communities

We have a strong legacy of social impact, dating back to the launch of our Dual Project in 1972 by Antoine Riboud. This heritage has forged a unique culture within Danone, where purpose is deeply ingrained in how we do business.

As part of our renewed social impact ambitions, we aim to foster a unique culture and workplace where each Danoner feels welcomed, supported and empowered. In addition, we’re supporting our Danoners and farmers with upskilling to help them prepare for the challenges of the future. This approach extends to protecting human rights and dignity throughout every part of our value chain.

People & Communities

With and through our ecosystem of partners

Partnerships

To help us achieve our goals across the three pillars of the Danone Impact Journey, we’re leveraging our ecosystem of impact platforms, going beyond our value chain: Danone Communities, Danone Ecosystem, and the Livelihoods Funds. 

We aim to increase our efforts on a global scale by partnering with NGOs and organizations such as B Lab, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, and the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.

We also collaborate with multi-stakeholder networks such as the Consumer Goods Forum and One Planet Business for Biodiversity, working together to scale up initiatives.

Together, these partnerships help ensure we focus on the right issues and allocate our resources effectively to make a positive difference.
