A different kind of leadership
It was the question on everyone’s lips in 2009: “Are you CODE?”
Behind this acronym lies the leadership attitude possessed by each and every Danoner, no matter what his or her background, occupation, or experience may be. This unique style of leadership “à la Danone” is expressed in four key attitudes: Committed, Open, Doer, and Empowered. It is also a way of demonstrating Danone’s philosophy of recruiting employees from a “path” perspective rather than a “position” perspective. Lastly, it conveys the importance of ensuring that the men and women working for the group are deeply commitment to Danone’s vision and direction, and are 100% involved in building the group’s future, hence their own.
Committed: being committed to living the Danone values each and every day; being dedicated, steadfast.
Open: demonstrating empathy and respect on all levels; Networking, connecting outside Danone.
Doer: taking responsibility and risks to to show the way forward ; being practical, resourceful, and responsive; doing the necessary leg-work efficiently and effectively.
Empowered/Empowering: delegating to other employees, which means relying on the potency of group strength; providing regular and constructive feedback based on accurate individual assessment. Developping healthy ambition, search for opportunity to grow, for self and others.
