Alimentando El Cambio, Empowering Kids to Improve Their Eating and Drinking Habits In Spain

The ‘Alimentando el Cambio’ initiative was co-created by Ashoka, the Ministry of Education, the Spanish Society for the Study of Obesity - SEEDO, and Danone. It aims to promote healthier and more sustainable eating habits for kids, enabling a future generation with the knowledge and tools necessary to improve their lives, the lives of others and the well-being of the planet.

HOW DOES THE PROJECT CONTRIBUTE TO DANONE’S 2030 GOALS?

Danone’s Essential Dairy & Plant-Based (EDP) and Waters businesses in Spain are working together to drive the Food Revolution by acting in tangible areas with a powerful multi-stakeholder approach.

The ‘Alimentando El Cambio’ initiative works to raise awareness of the school community (parents, teachers, kids and canteen operators) through training and knowledge sharing sessions on healthier eating habits, the certification of canteen providers, and the empowerment of kids. In stores, actions with retailers are implemented to encourage kids to be changemakers and to help family’s access and adopt healthier shopping options.

HOW DOES IT CREATE VALUE?

By working with retailers, the initiative creates increased opportunities to promote healthy shopping as well as additional space and visibility for products from healthy categories connected to Danone’s field of activity. It contributes to strengthening strategic alliances with key partners and generate new business opportunities with retailers to maximize healthy options. Such collaboration also allows to better understand consumers and to play a key role in their aspiration to shop healthy carts.
