Danone Egypt Gold Sponsors of the first French-Egyptian start-ups competition

Danone Egypt participated as a gold sponsor in the “France in Egypt” startups competition, along with 15 French companies, to identify Egyptian startups with a high potential for growth having the ambition to become the next leaders of the digital transformation in three priority sectors of cooperation between France and Egypt: Health, Finance and Sustainable Cities.

The launch event took place on November 6th in the presence of more than 300 participants under the patronage of His Excellency the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, M. Tarek Amer, His Excellency the Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat, and His Excellency the French Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, M. Stéphane Romatet.

In an age where the numbers of innovative startups rise exponentially and evolve at an unprecedented rate, Danone Egypt will always target its efforts towards finding an innovative, cost effective and secure use of information technology in healthcare and nutrition industry to advance the wellbeing of consumers, end users and patients.

After an initial selection phase, pre-selected startups will be invited to attend a bootcamp co-organized by the ecosystem partners of the operation, TIEC, Falak, Flat6Labs and EFG EV Fintech.

The final selection will then be made and announced during a major event to be held next spring that will identify the seven winners of the competition in the presence of French and Egyptian officials, representatives of both ecosystems and investors.
The seven winning startups will share a prize of a total amount of 750 000 EGP. They will also benefit from numerous business acceleration support mechanisms provided by partners and sponsors of the competition.
