Strategy & Key Figures
This is the mission we live and breathe at Danone Early Life Nutrition. We believe that by helping moms and babies get the right nutrition during the first 1,000 days — from the start of pregnancy until her baby is two years old — we can positively influence their short- and long-term health outcomes.
As a leading company in nutrition and health we have a long standing “dual project” commitment: to be a successful business and, at the same time, do everything possible to drive social progress.
That is why, in 2016, we launched the Danone Commitment for the First 1,000 Days, driving our 2020 ambitions for our social commitments in Early Life Nutrition.
It is our global commitment to parents and society to achieve the best nutritional start in life. We do this in multiple ways beyond our products, for instance through responsible marketing practices, sharing scientific data and education.

Nurturing new lives means more than simply manufacturing products
We are passionate about open and collaborative partnerships and always engage with our stakeholders at a global, regional and local level. We do this by:
- Promoting healthy nutrition in early life through educational programs and services for both parents and healthcare professionals.
- Actively encouraging and promoting the benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and child.
- Establishing common goals to measure improvement in dietary habits and short and long term health.
- Investing in scientific research in the field of early life nutrition, and working with healthcare professionals to develop innovative solutions to help improve the health of current and future generations.
It's not just what we do, but how we do it
The driving force behind Danone’s success is our portfolio of science- based products that provide optimal nutritional solutions for infants and young children. Through services and education, we support healthcare professionals and parents in making informed feeding choices.
We tailor our products to meet the appropriate nutritional needs of the different consumer groups for which they are produced, based on the latest science and local nutritional insights.
Product quality and safety
High standards of quality and food safety are the top priority for every Danone employee. We’re also committed to creating the safest environment that meets strict international regulations—without compromise.
As a leader of the infant nutrition industry, we have a key role to play in both promoting and initiating change. We acknowledge the importance and adhere to the aims and principles of the World Health Organization (WHO) Code. You can discover more about our policies and procedures in:
