:: Under the patronage of Zinedine Zidane, Danone Nations Cup is the largest football competition in the world for children aged between 10 and 12 years.

For its seventh edition, won by South Africa, 2.5 million youngsters from 40 countries participated, and were able to experience together the human and sporting values of football.

A social event enabling children to participate in a FIFA approved international sporting competition, Danone Nations Cup is also an educational project that reflects the Group’s determination to fight infantile obesity and promote the benefits of physical exercise.  Player selection took place in football clubs and schools in each country.

Some 65,000 clubs and 110,000 schools took part in the 2007 competition.  It was an occasion to teach children the meaning of  "sporting pleasure" but also to help them develop their physical capacities.
