A humanitarian partnership with the Restos du Cœur
Last update march 2010
Already more than 1100 Danone volunteers have registered and will participate on the 5th and 6th of March 2010
:: Following excellent results achieved in 2009 and the enormous enthusiasm shown by our employees, Danone has confirmed its commitment support the Restos du Coeur, a well-known French charity that distributes food to the needy, through an agreement signed with France’s Carrefour supermarket chain in November 2008. In 2010, three actions are planned:
1- Assistance with collecting food on a national level: Danone personnel will reinforce volunteers from the charity to collect a maximum amount of food from supermarkets.
2- Promotional operation: for the purchase of four Fresh Dairy, Water or Bledina products included in a promotion staged in Carrefour hypermarkets and Carrefour Market supermarkets, one meal will be donated to the Restos du Coeur.
3- Donation of employees’ skills: Danone has undertaken to make its employees’ work time available to the Restos du Coeur, providing the charity with professional support in such areas as logistics, IT, training and human resources.

In 2009, no fewer than 1,054 Danone employees from all French CBUs were involved in the in food collection! Thanks to our contribution, 1,270 tonnes of food were collected in Carrefour group supermarkets, equivalent to a third of the total of food collected from all supermarket chains in France. In view of the Restos du Coeur’s growing needs, we have raised our 2010 target to 1,500 tonnes in the collection scheduled for March 5 and 6.
