Being a trainee at DANONE
:: Regardless of what you may do later, an internship with Groupe DANONE is an enriching and gratifying experience for any student or recent graduate. The “Danone School” is famous not only for its methods, but also for the kind of jobs it offers to trainees. There is no guarantee that you will be hired at the end of the internship. However, for the best among you, being snapped up after it is a very real possibility because we prefer to recruit our junior employees from among our trainees.
Here is the story of one of our former trainees, now a manager in the Group.
:: How did you join the Group as a trainee?
Denisse: First I was selected via Internet after posting my CV online. The HR team of DANONE Mexico retained my CV and received me for a first interview. I was immediately attracted by the training poisition that was offered, as far from just involving just secondary tasks, it enabled me to join the HR team in charge of recruitment for the Group for a period of three months and allowed me to exercise real responsibility.
:: More specifically, what types of job did you do?
Denisse : After a few months observation and training with my team, I participated in preselecting candidates for various positions offered by the Group. I had to identify the qualities necessary for each position and then make an initial selection. After that, I interviewed certain persons that fitted the position and briefed my manager. I had real responsibility and considerable autonomy.
:: Since then you have joined the HR Department of Bonafont (waters subsidiary in Mexico) as manager. How did the training help you?
Denisse : In my opinion, the training courses are an excellent way to join the Group at a later stage as the trainee is involved in a specific task and can therefore demonstrate his/her know-how. This is what happened with me as almost immediately after my training course, the HR director of Bonafont asked me to join his team !
