How do I apply for a job?
Last update april 2009
- To apply for a job the first thing to do is choose a job offer that corresponds to you (in terms of your level of experience, the country in which you would like to work, the different families of jobs, etc.). You can access job offers by visiting the www.danone.com website, in the “Careers” tab under “Discover our offers”, or you can visit www.danonepeople.com. You may apply to several job offers.
- You will then be asked to set up your personal space in which you can enter your contact details and insert a cover letter and your CV (you will find advice for writing these in the “How can I get an interview?” section).
- Your application must be sent by Internet in response to a job offer. You cannot submit unsolicited applications.
- If your profile is not what we are looking for, it will be possible for you to apply for other jobs, of course. Don’t hesitate to set up job alerts with the “search agent” so that you are alerted as soon as there is a job offer corresponding to your profile.
- If your application corresponds to what we are looking for you will be contacted by Danone and the recruitment process will be triggered. You will then be invited for one or more interviews and/or to undertake an assessment.
- If you do join Danone, you will see that we do our utmost to give newcomers the best possible integration into the company. Here are a few examples and personal accounts:
In Belgium, for instance, the Human Resources manager presents each new recruit with a welcome brochure (a binder containing a range of corporate and legal information) and a welcome kit. On their induction day, new employees are welcomed and given a full explanation of how the subsidiary and the group operates, the manufacturing processes, and the communications media in use. They also visit the plant and offices. They are then introduced to the other employees.
In Portugal, new recruits meet a representative from each function (supply chain, marketing, sales, IT, human resources, etc.), who explains to them how his or her department operates, its goals and missions, etc. In addition, during their first year in the group, juniors managers follow a training programme in order to acquire the basic skills they will need in their work (communication skills, presentation, negotiation, etc.).
