Danone partnership with the IPA Congress in South Africa

Danone will be partner of the 26th International Congress of Pediatrics to be held on August 4-9th 2010 in South Africa (Johannesburg). This major congress, held every 3 years in a different continent, is organized by the International Pediatric Association (IPA), in partnership, this year, with the South Africa Pediatric Association (SAPA). About 3,000 participants (scientists, health professionals, UN agencies, policy makers, scientific media, etc.) are expected to attend this edition themed “We are one”.

Occurring just five years before the due date of the Millenium Development Goals, with the target of reducing child mortality by two thirds by 2015, the congress will provide crucial insight into vital issues of child health throughout the world, with a large spectrum of scientific fields covered (neonatology, cardiology, oncology, pediatric surgery, allergy, gastroenterology and nutrition, HIV, etc.).

Danone activities and scientific expertises will be presented through a stand to the attendees. This congress will be the opportunity to increase the awareness of Danone Baby Nutrition products amongst African pediatric KOLS. For this occasion, Danone’s unique societal responsibility approach will be also highlighted, with a special focus on Africa, through initiatives from Danone Institutes (African Leadership program), danone.communities (La Laiterie du Berger), Danone Supporting Life (SOS Togo), Danone Nations Cup (final play in South Africa), etc.
