Danone partners the IOF to promote bone health in children

:: More and more people are learning each day how diet and lifestyle can lead to a longer and healthier life. However, specific information on how to build strong and healthy bones in children is still limited. Adopting a bone friendly lifestyle as early as possible becomes all the more important when one takes into consideration that the essential bone-building years are short (from birth to the end of the teens). Bone mass acquired during those years will last throughout life and there is no second chance for building strong bones.
This situation has led both the IOF and Danone to engage in a partnership whose purpose will be to focus on how to optimize bone health in children.
Danone Research, whose teams have already been involved in research activities on nutrition and bone health, became a member of the IOF committee of corporate advisors in February this year.
