The Sales function aims at growing Danone’s categories and promoting brand awareness and penetration in the most relevant channels. Sales teams design and negotiate strategies with the clients to ensure products visibility in the points of sale. Acting as entrepreneurs, they optimize commercial levers to reach out to consumers and maximize sales potential. This function is an amazing playground to experience field positions, develop yourself as a manager but also become a leader in category development or negotiation.

I work at Danone Nutricia in Ivory Coast. I take care of the development of sales out of my district, I propose and implement the commercial actions and I am responsible for sales teams. I chose Danone because it's one of the worldwide biggest companies of FMCG. Now after more than a year working for here, I'm so proud to be a Danoner because regarding my division (Early Life Nutrition) I'm sure that we bring more than product to our consumers. And every day when I see a smile on a baby's face after the've eaten one of our products, that makes sense for me. Developing the leadership of its employee is a real focus for Danone. If I had an advice to give to a future candidate, I would say that Danone is a world class company that does more than produce and make available to consumers quality products. He will be proud to get up every morning to go to work.

I am a National Account Manager for the Italian market. I'm responsible for building strong commercial relationships with the major customers of the market, starting from national agreement. I participate in the integrated commercial planning process through conception and development of annual Customer Plans that support Brand and Channel Plans. Reaching targets & developing timely and accurate forecasts (volume and spend) for assigned accounts throughout the year is one of the keys to be successful in this role. Working in partnership with customers to achieve targets is the feature that I love about my job. I chose Danone because I knew that Commercial department is distinguished by a strong autonomy of the accounts, and now I can confirm it!

I enjoy the relationship building aspect of the role. As an account manager you must build many relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to bring plans to life. I chose Danone as a company to work for because of its dual project - both business & social causes. I chose to work in Sales because I love the fast paced & dynamic nature of buying & selling. My advice to grow in Danone is to learn from as many people as possible, both outside your function & within. Learn how the business works in a broader sense so you can better collaborate with your cross functional colleagues.
